1	Confitebor tibi, Domine, in toto corde meo: retribue servo tuo, ut vivam, et custodiam sermones tuos: vivifica me secundum verbum tuum, Domine.	I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart. Give bountifully to thy servant, that I may live and keep thy words. Revive me according to thy word, O Lord.
2	Domine convertere, et eripe animam meam: salvum me fac propter misericordiam tuam.	Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul: save me for thy mercy’s sake.
3	Intende voci orationis meae, Rex meus, et Deus meus: quoniam ad te orabo, Domine.	Hearken to the voice of my prayer, O my King and my God, for to thee will I pray.
4	Exaudi Deus orationem meam: et ne despexeris deprecationem meam: intende in me, et exaudi me.	Hear, O God, my prayer, and despise not my supplication: be attentive to me and hear me.
5	Improperium exspectavit cor meum, et miseriam: et sustinui qui simul mecum contristaretur, et non fuit: consolantem me quaesivi, et non inveni: et dederunt in escam meam fel, et in siti mea potaverunt me aceto.	My heart hath expected reproach and misery. I looked for one that would grieve together with me, but there was none; and for one that would comfort me, and I found none. And they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
6	Eripe me de inimicis meis, Deus meus: et ab insurgentibus in me libera me, Domine.	Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; and defend me from them that rise up against me, O Lord.
7	Jubilate Deo omnis terra, servite Domino in laetitia: intrate in conspectu ejus in exsultatione, quia Dominus ipse est Deus.	Sing joyfully to God, all the earth, serve the Lord with gladness, come in before his presence with exceeding great joy, for the Lord he is God.
8	Domine, fac mecum misericordiam tuam, propter nomen tuum: quia suavis est misericordia tua.	O Lord, deal mercifully with me for thy name’s sake, because thy mercy is sweet.
9	Benedictus es, Domine, doce me justificationes tuas: in labiis meis pronuntiavi omnia judicia oris tui.	Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications. With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth.
10	Domine, labia mea aperies, et os meum annuntiabit laudem tuam.	O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.
11	Populum humilem salvum facies, Domine, et oculos superborum humiliabis: quoniam quis Deus praeter te, Domine?	Thou wilt save the humble people, O Lord, and bring down the eyes of the proud. For who is God, other than thee, O Lord?
12	Precatus est Moyses in conspectu Domini Dei sui, et dixit: Quare, Domine, irasceris in populo tuo? Parce irae animae tuae: memento Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, quibus jurasti dare terram fluenem lac et mel. Et placatus factus est Dominus de malignitate, quam dixit facere populo suo.	Moses prayed to the Lord his God, and said: “Why, O Lord, is thy indignation enkindled against thy people? Forbear the wrath of thy soul: remember Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to whom thou sworest to give a land flowing with milk and honey.” And the Lord was appeased from doing the evil, which he had said he would inflict on his people.

14	Gressus meos dirige secundum eloquium tuum: et non dominetur mei omnis injustitia, Domine.	Direct my steps according to they word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me, O Lord.
15	Factus est Dominus firmamentum meum, et refugium meum, et liberator meus: sperabo in eum.	The Lord has become my support, my refuge, and my liberator: in him will I put my trust.
16	Perfice gressus meos in semitis tuis, ut non moveantur vestigia mea: inclina aurem tuam, et exaudi verba mea: mirifica misericordias tuas, qui salvos facies sperantes in te, Domine.	Perfect thou my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps be not moved. Incline thy ear unto me and hear my words. Show forth thy wonderful mercies; thou who savest them that trust in thee, O Lord.
17	Custodi me, Domine, de manu peccatoris: et ab hominibus iniquis eripe me.	Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the wicked: and from unjust men deliver me.
18	Confortamini, et jam nolite timere: ecce enim Deus noster retribuet judicium: ipse veniet, et salvos nos faciet.	Take courage, and fear not, for behold our God will render judgment. He himself will come, and he will save us.
19	Domine Deus salutis meae, in die clamavi, et nocte coram te: intret oratio mea in conspectu tuo, Domine.	O Lord, God of my salvation: I have cried in the day, and in the night before thee. Let my prayer come in before thee, O Lord.
20	Domine, in auxilium meum respice: confundantur et revereantur, qui quaerunt animam meam, ut auferant eam: Domine, in auxilium meum respice.	O Lord, look down to help me. Let them be confounded and ashamed, who seek after my soul to take it away. O Lord, look down to help me.
21	Benedic anima mea Domino, et noli oblivisci omnes retributiones ejus: et renovabitur, sicut aquilae, juventus tua.	Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all he hath done for thee: and thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle’s.
22	Adorna thalamum tuum, Sion, et suscipe Regem Christum: amplectere Mariam, quae est caelestis porta: ipsa enim portat Regem gloriae novi luminis: subsistit Virgo adducens manibus Filium ante luciferum genitum: quem accipiens Simeon in ulnas suas praedicavit populis Dominum eum esse vitae et mortis, et Salvatorem mundi.	Adorn thy bridal chamber, O Zion, and receive Christ the King. Embrace Mary, who is the gateway to heaven, for she bears the King of glory and new light. She remains a virgin, holding in her hands a Son begotten before the morning star. Simeon, taking him into his arms, proclaimed to the nations that he is the Lord of life and death, and the Savior of the world.
23	Miserere mei Domine, secundum magnum misericordiam tuam: dele Domine iniquitatem meam.	Have mercy on me, O Lord, according to thy great mercy: blot out my iniquity, O Lord.
24	Domine, ad adjuvandum me festina: confundantur omnes adversum me, qui cogitant servis tuis mala.	O Lord, hasten to help me. Let my enemies be confounded, who think evil of thy servants.
25	Domine, exaudi orationem meam, et clamor meus ad te perveniat: ne avertas faciem tuam a me.	Hear, O Lord, my prayer: and let my cry come to thee. Turn not away thy face from me.
26	Exspectans exspectavi Dominum, et respexit me: et exaudivit deprecationem meam, et immisit in os meum canticum novum, hymnum Deo nostro.	With expectation I have waited for the Lord, and he has looked upon me. He has heard my plea, and he has put a new canticle into my mouth, a hymn to our God.
27	Benedictus es, Domine, doce me justificationes tuas: et non tradas calumniantibus me superbis: et respondebo exprobrantibus mihi verbum.	Blessed art thou, O Lord; teach me thy justifications. Give me not up to haughty false accusors, and I shall answer them that reproach me in any thing.
28	Benedicam Dominum, qui tribuit mihi intellectum: providebam Dominum in conspectu meo semper: quoniam a dextris est mihi, ne commovear.	I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding. I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I not be moved.
29	Sperent in te omnes, qui noverunt nomen tuum, Domine: quoniam non derelinquis quaerentes te: psallite Domino, qui habitat in Sion: quoniam non est oblitus orationes pauperum.	Let all who know thy name trust in thee, O Lord, for thou dost not forsake them that seek thee. Sing ye to the Lord, who dwelleth in Zion, for he hath not forgotten the prayers of the poor.
